- DIET: Resume previous diet.
- ACTIVITY: Avoid exercise, heavy lifting and straining for 7 days after surgery.
- MEDICATION: Pain medication as prescribed or Tylenol/Ibuprofen as needed.
- FOLLOW-UP: Schedule an appointment with our office 5-7 days after surgery for suture removal. Our medical assistant will call daily to assess patient’s progress.
- WORK/SCHOOL: You may return the day after surgery if desired.
- INFORMATION: Mild swelling, redness, and bruising are to be expected and will reduce as incision heals. There may also be some mild crusting and bloody drainage. Area can be gently cleaned using peroxide as needed. Do not apply any emollient or cream to incision site. Call our office if there is excessive bleeding, swelling or drainage from the incision site or a fever over 101.
- Shower and/or bathe as usual. The area may get wet but not saturated and may be blotted dry with a cloth.
